St. Sophia Nature Center
Open daily from 9 am to 4 pm.
Just a short distance from the top of the gondola, the St. Sophia Nature Center is located atop Coonskin Ridge overlooking the town of Telluride. Here you will find information on hiking and biking trails, weather expectations, and local ecosystems to help prepare you for your adventures in the area.
The Nature Center's environmental programs are held all summer and feature native wildlife education, children's nature activities and crafts, as well as guided interpretive hikes to learn about Telluride's natural flora, fauna and more.
The center is free to the public, open during the summer months (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and has a spectacularly scenic picnic deck for all to enjoy. Special group activities available with reservations: 970.728.7360.
