Pinhead Institute - a Smithsonian Affiliate based in Telluride - promotes community appreciation and understanding of the environment by providing science-based ducational experiences that inspire future generations of scientific leadership and create new models for community awareness and action. Our international network of the world’s best scientists support our many educational programs that strive to build science-education both locally and globally.

Our Mission:  To promote community scientific literacy and environmental understanding through educaional and participatory activities with scientists and other professionals for students and adults in Southwest Colorado and beyond.
