The Institute for Altitude Medicine's (IFAM™) mission is to prevent illness and optimize the health, physical performance and quality of life for people of all ages living, working and traveling in high altitude areas. IFAM does this primarily by providing expert clinical care and educating health care providers and the public; IFAM also conducts research on the effects of high altitude on human health and performance. The IFAM™ vision is to be recognized internationally as the preeminent clinical center devoted to high altitude medicine.
Dedicated to wellness at altitude in the traveler, adventurer and high altitude resident, IFAM specializes in altitude issues, such as altitude sickness, headache, high-altitude pulmonary edema, and the effect of altitude on common medical conditions.
