Telluride Writers Guild

Telluride Writers Guild began in 1980 as a gathering of writers to share work. The Telluride Writers Guild works to inspire and honor the creative development of local writers of all ages and to serve and develop Telluride’s local literary audience by offering workshops, classes, performances and open reading forums.

In the 1980s, Art Goodtimes took over and continued the organizations great work. Years later, Art created a literary festival called Talking Gourds Spoken Word Festival that took place on Wilson Mesa. The Writers Guild was never its own non-profit, and currently the organization is under the Ah Haa School umbrella.

In 1998, Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer took the reins as director and event more new programs were created under her tenure. The Writers Guild Festival, Walking Words, Words to Dine For, Write Here, as well as a monthly Writers in the Schools program are just a few programs developed by Rosemerry.

  1. Reading/workshop series
