There is something magical about the 4th of July in Telluride. On Monday, get in the holiday spirit by heading to Sunset Plaza in Mountain Village for Red, White and Blues Concert and Festivities. There will be face painting, a magic show and much more. Live music will start later in the evening around 4:30PM. On the 4th of July, the day start with the 7th annual Rundola. Get your sweat on for a good cause before the rest of the day’s festivities! Participants of the race begin at the base of the gondola in town and finish at the top of the ridge next to the station St. Sophia. Next, the annual parade on Main Street at 11AM which is followed by the Fireman’s Fourth of July BBQ in Town Park. At dark (around 9:15ish), don’t miss out on the beautiful firework display in Town Park that is hosted by the Telluride Volunteer Fire Department. Also happening this week is the Telluride Plein Air Festival which ends on Tuesday. This festival draws artists from around the country to paint in the outdoors and exhibit and sell their work, so be sure to head to town and the surrounding areas to check out their art. Have a safe and fun 4th of July! Check out more on each event below.

Telluride Plein Air Festival: The Telluride Plein Air Festival draws artists from around the country to paint "en plein air" (in the outdoors) and exhibit and sell their work. Their scenes of Telluride and the surrounding areas simultaneously capture the mountain spirit of this special place and celebrate the art of painting in the outdoors.

Red, White and Blues Concert and Festivities: Family/kid activities including face painting, magic show and live music.

7th Annual Rundola: Get your sweat on for a good cause before the rest of the day's festivities! The 4th of July kicks off with the Telluride Foundation's Rundola, a recreational foot race to benefit the Telluride Foundation. Participants begin at the base of the gondola in the town of Telluride and finish at the top of the ridge adjacent to the San Sophia gondola mid-station. Runners follow the Telluride Trail (4.600 feet long, 40 feet wide, 13% uphill grade) or can simply bushwack to the finish. The elevation gain is 1,810 feet from start to finish.

4th of July Celebration: 4th of July Schedule of Events: 11:00am - Annual Fourth of July Parade on Colorado Avenue (Main Street). The parade is wildly popular so we recommend placing your chairs out early in the morning.
