What's Going On This Week?

This week is filled with great events that will get you in the holiday spirit. This weekend, the Telluride Arts Bazaar takes place from Friday to Sunday so stop by and check out the one-of-a-kind, handmade goods. This lively holiday tradition is hosted by Telluride Arts and features a wide variety of fine art, crafts and artisan foods! Also this weekend from Friday to Sunday, SAF Young Peoples Theater presents “Seussical the Musical,” an adventure following the beloved characters of Dr. Seuss’s books. On Wednesday, the holiday season in Telluride kicks off with Noel Night and the lighting of the Ski Tree. Retailers host a fun holiday shopping evening with great discounts, food, drinks and more. Take a break from shopping and enjoy the Ski Tree & Main Street Lighting ceremony in Elks Park at 6 pm. Last but not least, Donation Day will take place on Wednesday, December 6th followed by Telluride Ski Resort Opening Day on Thursday, Dec 7. The first four people in line at Village Express Lift (Lift 4) will have the honor of breaking the banner to start the 2017-2018 ski season!

Telluride Arts Bazaar: The Bazaar is a three-day event that features a wide variety of fine art, crafts and artisan foods.

Suessical the Musical: SAF Young Peoples Theater presents "Seussical the Musical," an adventure following the beloved characters of Dr. Seuss books. From Horton the Elephant to The Cat in The Hat, your favorite Dr. Seuss character will come to life in this middle school musical.

Noel Night and Ski Tree Lighting: Watch Telluride light up on one of our favorite nights of the year! Noel Night marks the beginning of the holiday season with the ceremonial Ski Tree and Main Street lighting ceremony at 6pm in Elks Park.  What follows is best known as a holiday shopping extravaganza. All the stores around town offer awesome discounts, food, and beverages.

Telluride Ski Resort Donation Day & Opening Day: Donation Day is Wednesday, December 6th. Lift tickets are $25 and proceeds benefit the Telluride Ski and Snowboard Club. An Apres Party will take place at Tomboy Tavern from 3:30-5PM which will include free soft pretzels and free beer from Telluride Brewing Company and Sweetwater Brewing.  Opening Day will follow on Thursday, December 7th. Lifts will run from 9-4PM and Gorrono Ranch will open for the season.
