What's Going On This Week?
This week is filled with events that are sure to bring out your creative side. From lip-syncing to live music and the Telluride Art walk, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Also, thanks to the recent storm that left us with 17” of fresh snow, Prospect Bowl (Lift 12), Lynx (Lift 13) and Gold Hill Express (Lift 14) will be open tomorrow Friday, Jan. 26, so be sure to head out on the mountain to make some turns! Check out more on this week’s featured events below.
KOTO LipSync: Saturday, January 27, Telluride’s Community Radio Station presents the 41st annual KOTO Lip Sync. This is one of Telluride’s most iconic local events. To register an act, email email@example.com. All participants get in free. Standing room/dancing room on the main floor are $20 and reserved seats in the balcony are $40. $4 ticketing fee included in price.
Mountainfilm for Locals: In partnership with Mountainfilm, Wilkinson library is proud to present another edition of Mountainfilm for Locals: The New Normal. Join us for an evening of shorts revolving around the theme of The New Normal. At the festival last year, Mountainfilm used this a lens to examine a changing environment but it also stuck as a way to discuss changing realities of all kinds — from immigration to farming.
STS9: This 5-piece electronic band is consistently ranked among the top touring acts in the country and always brings down the house. Their new album, The Universe Inside, is a story about human identity and the magical truth of who we are, where we're going, and our place in the universe.
Telluride Art Walk: First Thursday Art Walk is a festive celebration of the arts in the Telluride Arts District for art lovers, the community, and friends! Nineteen venues host receptions from 5-8pm on first Thursdays to introduce their new exhibitions and artists. Look for the flags!
