What's Going On This Week?

It’s been a cold and snowy winter here (which we love), but Telluride heats up this weekend during the 3rd Annual Telluride Fire Festival. Multi-storied, fire emitting “art cars”, burn barrels, fire dancers, and larger-than-life, animated, art installations all make up this unique festival which takes place on the pedestrian plazas of Mountain Village January 20-22. On Friday, stop in the Telluride Gallery of Art to check out Scott London’s Burning Man Photo Exhibit which is followed by free fire performances in Mountain Village Plaza. Saturday, start your day off with fire spinning workshops at Oak Street Gondola Plaza and Mountain Village Plaza. At night, head to the Great Room at St. Sophia Gondola Station for the Fire Ball where you will be entranced by aerial silk and hoop performers, plus fire spinners followed by Fire on the Mountain atop Chair 7. On Sunday, cool down after a fiery weekend and make your way to Mountain Lodge for the Meet-The-Artists Closing Party.
