Telluride Jazz Festival Recap

You may think of a Jazz Celebration as playing Jazz and only Jazz.  But this year was a bit different unveiling a lineup of broader appeal.  This year's Jazz Festival openned up on Friday night with Ozomatli, a brass band with Latin Fusion, gospel, and New Orleans funk.  They really started the Festival off with a bang bringing everyone out of their seats and off their tarps and right up to the stage to show off their latest dance moves.

Ozomatli's show ended with a jam session off the stage and in the middle of the crowd.  As if we weren't dancing enough as it was.  It was a terrific decision to add a band like Ozomatli to the already amazing line-up.

Saturday I soaked up the rays and sat amidst the awe-inspiring scenery listening to the Bill Frisell Trio and Karl Denson's Tiny Universe.

On Sunday the box canyon with filled with the sounds of Lizz Wright followed by the Jimmy Herring Band.
