Telluride Avalanche Dogs

Patrol Dog 3

Everyone loves their furry little four-legged companions. And who doesn’t love a four-legged companions who can dig you out of an avalanche?

As part of the 40 days of Telluride events celebrating the 40th birthday of the Telluride Ski Resort, Telluride Ski Patrol put on an avalanche dog demonstration at the bottom of Lift 4 in Mountain Village.

Ski patrollers spoke to a crowd of all ages about the patrol dog job, introduced three of the Resort's trained pups, and demonstrated with one of the labradors how avalanche victims are found. See the below video to check this special pup in action!
