Telluride Sparks Creativity for Artists and Filmmakers
Our mountain paradise attracts exceptional and talented people –amazing athletes, highly educated graduates with multiple degrees, extremely successful entrepeneurs and of course the amazing artists drawn to Telluride for its inspirational setting.
Telluride is a mecca for talented film makers like Ben Knight and Travis Rumel of Felt Soul Media. The team’s newest project, DamNation, premiered in March 2014 at the South by Southwest Film Conference and Festival in Austin, Texas to rave reviews and has already won several awards. The documentary, produced in conjunction with Patagonia and Stoecker Ecological, explores dam removal and restoring free-flowing American rivers.
DamNation is part of the stellar line up at Mountainfilm, which kicks off this Memorial Day Weekend.
In addition to showcasing leading independent films and filmmakers, the festival now includes symposia and panels, gallery exhibits of art and photography, book-signings, breakfast talks, student programs, music and street parties. The essential combination that first set the festival apart,—friends, adventure, passion and powerful ideas—remains firmly intact. Attendees always walk away inspired, changed and wanting to make a difference.
