January in San Francisco can sometimes be a bit challenging. The first month of the year is also the Bay Area’s coldest and wettest. With an average of just four hours of sunlight a day, citydwellers could be forgiven for feeling a little dreary and a lot dull. The cure for these winter blues? Why, it’s Telluride, of course, where wintertime is party time.

January is off to an incredible start with a series of storms hitting Telluride and dropping nearly 2 feet of snow between January 7-11. More snow is in the forecast. Excellent conditions combined with these fun fixes (and don't forget Telluride is easy to get to with nonstop, daily flights on American from San Francisco) are sure to lift your spirits.

Telluride’s Music Scene

Club Red

In January alone, electronic funk from the Floozies, Brett Dennen’s soulful tunes and the jamgrass of Leftover Salmon pack a diverse events calendar that graces local venues ranging from historic to chic to dive-bar funky.

A Local Bar Scene That Has Something for Everyone

Last Dollar the buck

From the Liberty’s chic and modern vibe to urban hipster at There, from the historic bar at the New Sheridan to brews and juke-box favorites at the Last Dollar Saloon, whatever your squad is into, Telluride’s got it.

The Most Unique Form of Transportation of Its Kind in North America

The gondola whisks you up the mountainside from the historic town of Telluride to Mountain Village, with its charming European-style feel. The free, 13-minute ride is more than just a trip. Offering stunning views and a one-of-kind experience, the “G” is a journey you won’t soon forget.

The Mountain

Our nightlife will enthral, entertain and excite – much like the skiing and boarding at the Telluride Ski Resort. Telluride has just been named (once again) the number one ski resort in North America by Conde Nast Travelers’ readers and it’s well deserved. Varied terrain, jaw-dropping views and outstanding on-mountain dining mean your days here will be as awesome as your nights.
