Are the Leaves Changing Color?
The phone has been ringing a lot this week. The most popular question we get asked this time of year is “When do the leaves change color?” This is a very challenging question to answer as the peak of fall colors changes from year to year.
Last year we experienced an abnormally late fall. The leaves didn’t start to change color until early October. This year, timing seems to be a bit more normal.
As you can see from the photo above (taken Sept. 23), there are a clusters of Aspens high on the hillsides that are ablaze in gold but the majority of the mountains are still wearing their summer greens. We anticipate the peak of fall colors to be about a week away.
